Monday, 4 August 2008, Kuching: The SALCO exhibition comprising smelter site model and aluminium ingots display received a very special royal visitor today when the Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Oamr ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, stopped by during a visit to the Sarawak development exhibition in Petra Jaya. On hand to explain the plans to set up the SALCO smelter at Similajau, north of Bintulu, were Dato’ Richard Curtis (CMS Group MD) and Syed Ahmad Alwee Alsree (CMS Deputy Group MD), along with John Erskine (Rio Tinto Alcan, Vice President, Business Development Asia) and Matt Liddy (Rio Tinto Alcan, Director, Business Development Asia).
