SALCO smelter to boost the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy
Bintulu, Monday, 11 February 2008 - Rio Tinto Alcan and Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad (CMS)’s proposed US$2 billion world class aluminium smelter project, which will be owned by the joint venture known as SALCO, at Similajau near Bintulu in Sarawak, Malaysia is set to play a significant role as a catalyst for regional development of the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE). The Corridor was launched by Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in Bintulu today.
